Since 1991, Rich's Car Works, Inc. has provided top-notch auto repair and maintenance services to the Naugatuck community and surrounding areas of Connecticut. As an independent, family-owned, and operated auto service facility, we're dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and honest, reliable work. The Story and People Behind Rich’s Car Works

Rich, the founder of Rich's Car Works, has always had a passion for cars. He loved working on cars early on, and he still has his first car, a 67’ Ford Mustang that he bought at 15! He started his career at the local Ford dealership, working on state police cruisers, and later on, he worked at other local auto repair shops, gaining valuable experience and a deep understanding of what owning an automotive business is like.

In 1989, Rich opened his own gas station and repair shop, offering a wide range of services. They had as many as 14 employees. In 1990, Shellie left the hairdressing business to help run the office, which gave Rich more time to work in the garage. With Shellie's support, the pair transformed the business into the thriving auto repair shop it is today.

As time went on, they built a family and continued to focus on growing the auto repair side of the business. They stopped offering gas and removed the pumps to make more space for a parking lot.

Outside of helping others at Rich’s Car Works, Inc., the husband-and-wife team loves traveling, biking, gardening, camping, and exercising. With genuine love and care for the community, they also support local youth organizations.
